Langkah-langkah eksperimen:
1. Gunting dua Kad Lengkung seperti dalam gambar di bawah.(Gunakan dua kertas yang berbeza warna untuk senang membezakan di antara dua kad)
2. Pastikan saiz kedua-dua kad sama manakala saiz lengkungan kedua-dua belah berbeza.
3. Sekarang kita bandingkan kad berwarna kuning dan Kad berwarna Oren. Yang mana kelihatan lebih panjang?
Bagaimana ini terjadi?
Perkara ini terjadi disebabkan oleh sudut fokus pandangan kita adalah kecil. Walaupun kita mampu melihat keseluruhan kad,namun kita hanya mampu fokus kepada sudut pandangan yang kecil untuk membuat perbandingan.
Dalam erti kata lain, adik-adik cenderung untuk membandingkan lengkungan yang bersebelahan . Dalam langkah ke 3, adik-adik akan melihat kad berwarna kuning lebih panjang berbanding kad berwarna oren, ini kerana adik-adik melihat dan membandingkan lengkungan panjang kad berwarna kuning dengan lengkungan pendek kad berwarna oren. Disebabkan lengkungan kad kuning lebih panjang, otak adik-adik akan menafsirkan kad kuning lebih panjang dari kad oren. Begitu juga yang terjadi pada langkah ke 4.
